carollng II. the real one
Heheh.
Supposed to be updating about the caroling in the previous post.
But feelings, who can supress them? Not when they show up all 'uninvited'.
I feel different after carolling.
This sort of inner satisfication, like you did something to contribute to society, but more than that; even though the person doesnt really show any signs of gratitude, you may have just touched them deep within and really helped to spread the christmas joy and spirit.
I love Christmas.
I love the smell the atmosphere ,everything.
I love it that it' s my King's birthday.
I hate it that nobody remembers him.
I hate it that this fat old guy caleld Santa Claus just steals the whole show away.
I love the trimmings and food and presents and decor but I admit I get carried away sometimes. That isnt't he point of Christmas is it?
Anyway, met at East Point, Simei at '5pm'.
During which I had just barely survived mortifying myself in front of about 15 of ms ling's students.
We were crammed into her upstairs room and I ran all the way there panting and puffing and realised me and another girl were the youngest. And realised that they were all pro pianists and I was just some amatueer forced into it. Had to play first, but ms ling spared me and I played second. Not that it made a lot of difference seeing in which i messed up the whole song. And it didnt help that first pianist had memorised a SONATA (imagine; a sonatina, aka a tiny sonata is about 4-5 pgs long) and was playing it effortlessly. And me? first I was kinda freaked out cos we had to bow and all that formal stuff and she was VIDEOING US. Then I really lost it when I started playing. The sound sounded all funny and I think that's cause my piano's really out of tuned and rusty and horrible. and the keys felt different too. Left hand was in another world.
Okay, I shall skip the gory details of my humiliating experience.
Next!!
Simei. Took to Kallang, mrted.
I gave up trying to jay walk cos there were no professional jay walkers to follow.
I am such a law abiding citizen! Ya right.
Yj, kelly, nicole and jr were there already.
We look so christmassy.
Peishi, nicole- red
me kel yj jr - green
Then we plopped our watson 2 dollar shiny blue wizard hats with the hard tip ball.
And march we on. Went up to 10th level, then walked down. First house was one of the two that let us in. 3 or so dogs. A dad and a son. We thougt since they let us in the rest should be easy. But no. Got lots of rejections, turn downs but he worst is when they just ignore us completely, and we cant see that faceless person but we can see the flickering tv light in the darkness and we know that soemone is just sitting there watching it and probably cursing us to go away.
And hey, I was really disappointed to see people asking us for the catch; I mean you dont just go caroling FOR FREE. They expected to pay us some kinda donation or something, like they dont trust the idea that ppl just want to be nic eand are not out to cheat them or anything. Not that I blame them. I guess I would be doubtful too. The best house I would vote is the one with the super ferioucious dog. She let us in, and even her lil daughter sang along. Then we sang the chinese one; and her older daughter kind of kenw the words. I liked that house. Then when we went down she actually came down to look for us and wanted to give us 10 bucks but jr refused.
We gave the MOL tickets to this old malay guy. I think he was relaly touched by our carolling. He was already probably kind of having low self esteem cause he said 'why sing to an old guy like me' indicatin that he was 'not worth' singing too. And boy we did sing our best, and ps said she saw tears in his eyes and he lucky drawed and got hte MOL tickets! and we knew it was just right for him to get them, esp since simei and expo so near.
Alrites. I can barely stay awake. Good nite
